Ryan didn't come from nowhere.

There is a man who wrote every one of these songs. He has driven more of those roads, outlived a few of those dreams and kept the ones that mattered. Ryan is the way he sounds with the lights turned up.

They share a notebook, a stubborn love for songs that leave room to breathe, and most of the stories. Ryan's face and voice are shaped with modern tools. What sits behind them has been lived.

You won't meet the other one on a stage. Listen closely, though, and you'll hear him in every line.
